You don’t need to pay for a GVoice number. But you have to pay $10.00 if you want to port a number.

Haven’t given out my actual cell phone number to anyone. Not even sure what the number is. Use the GV number only. Change phones or providers without ever changing your GV phone number. If you change phones or providers simply forward your GV number to the new phone and un-forward your old number. Google Voice phone numbers are not available from within many area codes. Simply choose a number from another area, any area from anywhere you’d like. Most all numbers that might spell an English word have already been assigned so good luck with that. Forward your GV number to any phone. Keep your actual real cell phone number to yourself. Many options are available on line at your GV free account. Text, voice to text and voice mails are stored and can be accessed thru your account on-line also. Real Nice!

Imagine multiple cell phones that use the same number, or even a phone with more than one number?

+++ Listen Up +++ This GV number can be forwarded to multiple phones at one time. The GV number can be set to ring at multiple phones simultaneously. When the GV number is dialed all of the designated phones will respond. The first phone to connect takes the call while all others will show a missed call. Party line are not available yet.
