Lawn Bowls has been included on every Commonwealth Games program since 1930 except in 1966 in Jamaica. Women were included for the first time in Brisbane in 1982.
In 2002, two Para-Sport events were added and Lawn Bowls made a compulsory sport.
The governing body for Lawn Bowls in Australia is Bowls Australia.
